Resources for Developers
Annvix provides a number of resources for developers that provide means of communication between members.
Mailing Lists
Mailing lists are provided to provide communication between developers and users. There are currently a small number of mailing lists, but as the need for new lists arises, new lists can be created. All developers are required to subscribe to the dev mailing list, and you may also wish to subscribe to the read-only cvs mailing list. All developers and users are encouraged to subscribe to the announce mailing list.
All mailing lists are entirely public and while all attempts are made to protect the archives from being abused by spam harvesters, please be aware that whatever you post to the mailing lists, the entire world can read.
Please be courteous to others on the mailing lists. The lists are moderated so that unsubscriber posts need to verified by a moderator first, but beyond that they are not moderated whatsoever.
IRC
A public IRC channel has been setup on irc://irc.freenode.org in the #annvix channel. Developers and users are encouraged to use this channel to discuss details of the Annvix project.
Development Systems
Annvix does not provide developers with a development system to build packages on at this time. Because the build process is largely automated, developers should have an Annvix build environment at home (either in a chroot or a virtual machine, uml, etc.).
