EverQuest2 is dead; long live WoW
Haven’t posted in this section for a bit… but I have to admit that ever since I gave World of Warcaft a go, I haven’t missed EverQuest or EverQuest2 at all. WoW gives me all the MMoRPG junkiness I need and although I don’t have time to play it as much as I would like, I’m finding it worlds better than EverQuest2.
Point in fact: My daughter (4 years old next month) has her own WoW account. Unheard of? Probably. She likes to play “barbie” with her characters… ticks me off when she plays mine (she’s insisting on her druid being able to shapeshift into a bear like mine, so I’ve been working her account while she goofs off on mine). Drives me nuts when my hotkeys are re-assigned and my druid is jumping naked on the beach like an idiot. Oh well.
And the real kicker is I can play on my mac… which looks much better than on Windows. Oh love of my life, why didn’t I pick you up before?
EQ2 Plat
Well both games are very nice I was going to go with WoW …. but anyway WoW and EQ2 both have good graphics depending on your standard.
Jan 27, 2006 @ 14:49:18WoW has some good PvP feature. EQ2 has the same and more only not at launch.
WoW has less class and less versatility with those class then EQ2.
WoW has a realy small character creation process, EQ2 has the same has SWG wich his excellent.
WoW has have some cool features like the mind control spell of the priest that lets you temporarly control another player. (But isnt that a litle rigged?)

I like the character creation process in EQ2… I loved the tweaking you could do to make your characters “just right”. WoW’s isn’t lacking much, but EQ2 you could really take your customization to more of an extreme, which was nice.
Never really cared for SWG, but that’s just a personal thing. Never really captured me like EQ/EQ2/WoW did… I even preferred Ultima Online to it (actually, I really liked Ultima Online).
As far as mind control spells for the priest… no comment on that one… my druid is only level 38 and my priest is level 3 I think… =)
Jan 30, 2006 @ 14:00:52WOW SUCKS MONKEY BALLS
Hey played em both, Eq2 owns Wow 1v1. WoW is overrated, Totally Unrealistic, and was pretty much trying to copy the original everquest idea.

Ummm… aren’t *all* MMoRPGs set in a fantast world (Guild Wars, Shadowbane, and all the others) also copying the original EQ idea? One could say that EQ2 is the biggest infringer here, no?
I also don’t get the “totally unreaslitic” part. It’s more realistic to be a dwarf fighting giant spiders in EQ2 than it is in WoW?
Anyways, to each their own. I’m happy you enjoy EQ2… I think it’s great. EQ2 isn’t a bad game, but I have absolutely zero interest in running Windows in order to play a game. For that reason, I’m playing WoW… I can run it on my macs. I can use that super-powered ex-windows machine for what it was meant for… massive vmware instances. =) I can also tuck it away in a server room keeping my all-OS X office a little cleaner. Oh, and while I do run windows on two laptops (dual-boot), neither has the guts to run EQ2, but they can both play WoW just fine.
For me, that’s everything. And the game is enjoyable enough for me too.

I enjoy both games but if i had to choose one i would go with WoW. not because if has good graphics and all that kinda stuff but because if has the best story line i have ever seen. warcraft has been around for 10+ years and all of the warcraft games (not including world of warcraft) have been one long story line that is awsome. if u ever get the chance read up on the entire story line which begins with the creation of azoroth and all of the world by the Titans ( u will have to by the warcraft battle Chest which comes with reign of choas and frozen throne, cause i dont think u can buy them seprally and more, and the reign of choas booklet has that story line in it). if u find it intersting, which u will, and want to read more about it then u can either thumb throw the frozen throne booklet or go buy world of warcraft,if u have already got it, and read through the history of the diffrent races and the summorized version of the entior warcraft history. so in conclusion its not the graphics that makes a game good but the game play and story line that makes a game excellent.
