Guitar Hero III… early?
According to most gaming sites, Guitar Hero III is supposed to be released on October 28th. Either it got pushed forward, or I lucked out and my local Walmart screwed up big because when I was out buying picture frames, I decided to see if Conan (which was supposed to be released today) had come out… lo and behold, I walked out of Walmart with the single copy of Guitar Hero III they had on the shelves. I presume they had more copies and sold them already, but I don’t know for sure.
Anyways, on medium difficulty I’m ranked 104 of 184… and it was 182 earlier this evening so I’m presuming that more copies either got mistakenly sold a week early or it’s already out (but since I didn’t see it any other stores I looked at today to get Conan, I think someone let it go early).
Should probably be finished it tomorrow… too tired to play more tonight. Definitely has some cool songs tho. =) Guitar Hero II is still selling like crazy tho… on the 18th there were 898243 users on the leaderboards (at which point I was ranked 119207), and as of the 21st, which was the last time I checked the leaderboards, I was ranked 115949 of 908952. Gotta keep track of these scores somehow and the blog seems like the best place to do it.
Oh, and I have a receipt to prove I actually did buy it from Walmart tonight, before anyone starts thinking I downloaded it or something stupid like that. Kinda ticked that I didn’t walk away with Conan, but I’ll take Guitar Hero III… for now.

what leaderboards? Guitar Hero II uploads your score somewhere? I didn’t know that.
Anyway, screw Guitar Hero III, it’s all about Rock Band. Although it looks like they’re going to make the drums stupidly easy because all the journalists and testers whined that it’s too hard to learn, sigh.

On the 360 it does, yeah. I suspect you need XBOX Live for it to do that, tho.
Haven’t heard too much about Rock Band… definitely gonna have to check it out when it comes out… Guitar Hero is about the only thing my wife will play on any of the consoles, so it’s a worthwhile expense to have her play with me. My daughter, while enthusiastic, is only 6… her fingers aren’t long enough for her to be playing co-op with me… =)

Well, GH3 is definitely harder than GH2. The battles are interesting, but the songs feel faster and a lot more notes.
Oh, and the unlocked Dragonforce song when you finish medium is insane. I nailed 1457 out of 1823 notes (on medium). My fingers were cramped by the time the song was done. =)
So far, every song is 5 out of 5 except two… Raining Blood by Slayer and some other song I don’t recall the name of. Playing Metallica’s One was pretty cool… love that song.
Some decent songs on there, some icky ones.. just like GH2.
More copies are leaked or something… there are 314 players on the medium leaderboards (I like how the leaderboards are split across difficulty). I’m currently rank 30 out of 314… I imagine come monday I’ll be 50,000 or so in rank. =) But hell, I’ll take my few days of high-ranking hero-ness!
So, yeah, finished it last night on medium. Need a new guitar controller tho… the yellow key is starting to stick on me. =(

This game has really improved my skills. The best system for this game is the wii. Trust me!

I own guitar hero ||| for Nintendo wii and I think it is absolutely brilliant. It is better for Wii than any other console. Easily. True legend game
