Use encrypted filesystems with Linux Logical Volume Manager

This week’s TechMail is Use encrypted filesystems with Linux Logical Volume Manager which discusses how to setup LVM with encryption right at install-time. I’m finding for myself that having information, particularly on laptops, encrypted is becoming increasingly important to me. The nice thing with LVM and having the entire drive encrypted is I don’t really notice any slow-down at all (no, I don’t have any magical figures to support that, but it doesn’t feel like it’s dragging at all).

Answered my own question. Very interesting, I didn’t know about that. Thanks for sharing!

That explains it in more depth. Very neat stuff. I wonder if I can make a custom “crypto token” usb stick that would allow for two-factor authentication. Hmmm….
