Last week’s TechMail was Enhance screen with Byobu’s cool functionality which looks at using Byobu to spruce up GNU screen. Byobu adds some nice color and character to screen, and is definitely worth looking into if you use screen a lot.
This week’s TechMail is Learn to use a serial console on Linux which walks through the steps needed to use screen as a serial console client and setting up the remote system to answer to serial login requests. Handy for those headless servers when ssh stops working for some reason.
