			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This week&#8217;s techmail is <a href="http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/opensource/?p=1415">Setting the record straight on sudo</a> which I wrote as a rebuttal to another, rather ignorant, rant against the use of sudo.  I get it, the author uses Ubuntu and probably doesn&#8217;t give much thought to the fact that Ubuntu really shouldn&#8217;t use sudo the way it does, but there were other misconceptions there as well.  So rather than posting a comment to the article in question, I wrote a bit of rebuttal.</p>
<p>I like sudo.  I like sudo a lot.  And it ticks me off when people criticize it, particularly when they show complete ignorance for how it (should) work.</p>

It&#8217;s just a short primer on how to use sudo so for those that do know how to use it and manage /etc/sudoers, it&#8217;s nothing special, but for those who don&#8217;t, it&#8217;s a good start.
